Key to the City Recipients

Bob Hope

In 1995, iconic entertainer and dedicated supporter of the U.S. Armed Forces, Bob Hope, was awarded the key to the City of Branson by Former Mayor Lou Schaefer. Hope’s visit to Branson came after years of his legendary USO tours during a period where Branson began an annual veterans celebration that would become world renowned. Known for lifting the spirits of soldiers around the globe, Mr. Hope’s legacy of service and patriotism resonates with Branson’s long-standing commitment to honoring those who served our country. Gretna Road was also adorned with a sign proclaiming it as Bob Hope Memorial Drive.
