Branson is filled with special acts in town for the weekend of October 18th through the 20th.  Four Hit-Making Groups from the 60′s are performing in one show at the Andy Williams Theater. The Happy Together Tour celebrates the music of the sixties with The Turtles featuring Flo & Eddie, Monkees lead singer Micky Dolenz, Gary Puckett & The Union Gap Band, and Mark Lindsay, Sawyer_Brown_1former lead singer of Paul Revere & The Raiders, bringing good time music to Branson! These four artists have over sixty Top 40 hits to choose from, including six number one songs. Half of those Top 40 hits were Top 10! The Oakridge Boys Theater also has a jam packed weekend of entertainment. October 19th Sawyer Brown takes the stage. Sawyer Brown was discovered through the show star search in the early 90’s. Their pop country sound lead the way for many county bands of the 90’s. their hits like ‘Six days on the road” and “The Boy’s and Me.” Sawyer Brown has released twenty studio albums, of which three have been certified gold in the United States for sales of 500,000 copies. You can make a weekend seeing shows, The Gatlin Brothers, Steve, Rudy and Larry will be performing all their hits at the Starlite Theater Saturday October 20th.

Branson Missouri Food and Wine Festival October 26

MFWFLogoMark your calendars for the 4th Annual Missouri Food & Wine Festival on October 26th, 2013. Since its first festival in 2009, the Missouri Food and Wine Festival in Branson, Missouri has become one of Southwest Missouri’s largest annual food and wine events. This year the Missouri Food & Wine Festival moves from Chateau on the Lake to the grounds of the Branson Mill Craft Village (3300 N. Gretna Road).  The one day festival will have more festive atmosphere with something for the whole family.   The one day festival beginning at 8:30 am and running till 9 pm.

There are many new additions to this year’s festival. One of the biggest additions makes the event fun for the whole family. The festival features an art activities area designed to entertain small children and young teens. Over 200 sq ft of face painting, balloon tying, games and activities all designed around an “art theme”. There will be experienced volunteers to guide your children through a series of art activities all made possible by local non-profit organizations and community donations. There is something for everyone in your family or group of friends.

Dozens of Southwest Missouri’s finest eateries will be on hand for sampling; including Italian, Mexican, European, Asian and down home American cuisine, artisan chocolates and cheeses; pizza, burgers, and so much more. Don’t forget to check out the Ozark bottled soda pop, gourmet coffees, and fine chocolates.

The adults will still have the opportunity to sample and purchase by the glass some of Missouri’s finest wineries like Linwedel Winery, Le Bourgeois Winery, Bear Creek Wine Company, Crown Valley Winery, and one of Missouri’s most award winning wineries Stone Hill Winery. Stone Hill was just awarded the Missouri Governor’s Cup for 2013. In addition Missouri’s premier wines, you’ll sample beer, distilled spirits, champagne, Ozark Soda Pop, gourmet coffee, soft drinks, even chocolate covered bacon, all to your heart’s content, at this family friendly event for foodies.

Veteran’s Week In Branson, MO

Shoji-Taubchi-Christina-FinaleEach year Branson puts on America’s largest veteran’s celebration during the Welcome Home Veterans week in November.  This year’s event will take place November 5th through Veteran’s Day, November 11th.  From the opening event at the Clay Cooper Theatre to the Veteran’s Day Parade through Historic Downtown Branson, Branson rolls out the red carpet for retired and active duty military. Every day Branson honors veterans, but during Veteran’s Week in Branson the entire town focuses on those individuals who protect our freedoms today and in the past.  Several reunions are held and special events to focus on specific groups.  The Branson Convention and Visitors Bureau has a list of Veteran’s Week events.  Also, the Branson Veterans Task Force and Branson Veteran Events and Reunions will take major rolls in making sure this week is a time of honor and remembrance.

Branson Fall Line Up Is Star Studded

Lee GreenwoodThe stars are out this fall in Branson.  September and October has quite the line up at Branson Theaters.  Coming this fall to the Andy Williams Moon River Theater is Rich Little, Lee Greenwood, Clint Black and the Happy Together Tour with The Turtles featuring Flo & Eddie, Monkees Lead Singer Micky Dolenz, Gary Puckett & The Union Gap Band and Mark Lindsay, former lead singer of Paul Revere & The Raiders.

The Starlite Theatre will host the Gatlin Brothers, Rhonda Vincent, Gene Wats, Daily Vincent, Wilson Fairchi and the Grascals during September and October in Branson.  At the Oak Ridge Boys Theatre, its name sake will be in Branson for the select dates during the fall Branson season along with playing host to Neal McCoy, Kenny Rogers, Bill Cosby, Sawyer Brown, John Michael Montgomery, Jim Belushi & The Chicago Board of Comedy and Diamond Rio.

So Much to See and Do During Fall in Branson

presleysAutumn in Branson is full of great things to see and do.  Let’s start with the “doing.”  During Branson’s fall season there are many great live shows to take in.  The Branson Lakeside RV Park is centrally located to the famed Highway 76 strip.  Within just a few moments you can be on one of the main roadways in town that will take to shows like the Presleys’, Baldknobbers, Shoji Tabuchi, Pierce Arrow and many many more.

Branson shows are great, but did you know we are also home to several exciting attractions?  The Titanic Museum Attraction is a must-see…and if you have seen if before…see it again!  The Titanic Museum is continuously changing exhibits.  There is also the new Promised Land Zoo.  Even if you are visiting without the kids, it’s a beautiful place to stroll along the park-like setting and visit many exotic animals.

Shriner’s Parade Route in Branson, MO

Branson will play host to the 2013 Central States Shrine Association Convention August 21st -25th. Shriner’s from Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa are going to converge on the city for several days of fun and competition.

Saturday, August 24th from 9am to 12 pm, the convention will be hosting a parade in Downtown Branson, just feet from the Branson Lakeside RV Park.  You can easily walk to the parade route from our RV Park!

The public is invited to watch as the parade makes its way through Downtown Branson, following the Adoration Parade route. The units begin line up at 7 am and the parade commences at 9am. Pick you spot along the parade route because as the say EVERYONE LOVES A PARADE!

 

Top 3 Reasons to Visit Branson in Late Summer

camground 2There are way more than three reasons to visit Branson anytime of the year, but we are narrowing down our favorite things about Branson and late summer.  If you’ve been to Branson before you may not realize all the fun to be had in late summer!

Reason #1 The Weather

Summer weather in Branson can be, shall we say, a bit warm.  This summer its also been a bit rainy, but the weather in late August has cool mornings and evenings and sunshiny afternoons.  This weather is just perfect for sightseeing, fishing along the banks of Lake Taneycomo (which are only feet from all our RV sites), shopping or catching a Branson show.

Reason #2  The Crowds

campgroundLate August and September in Branson sees smaller crowds.  The kids have gone back to school and this time is known as the calm before the Fall and Christmas peak seasons.  During the late summer in Branson you still have wonderful shows and attractions, but you also have less traffic, making the late summer crowds reason #2 to visit during this time of the year.

 

 

 

 

Reason #3 Special Events

September if full of special events in Branson!  Just a few blocks from the Branson Lakeside RV Park is the area known as Historic Downtown Branson.  This area will place host to the Autumn Daze Celebration September 19-21.  This event is full of arts, crafts and entertainment.

Beginning August 23rd is Silver Dollar City’s Southern Gospel Picnic, running through September 2nd. September 12th Silver Dollar City’s National Harvest Festival will open brimming with crafters from all over, but many hailing from right here in Missouri.

Branson is ready to roll out the red carpet for Shriners!  For five days in August, 4,000+ Shriners will be holding their 2013 Central States Shrine Association Convention, August 21-25, in Branson.

Who exactly are the Shriners?  Shriners are often known for the red fezzes they wear and their good works with the Shriners Hospitals for Children.  The organization is headquartered in Tampa, Florida. Shriners International describes itself as a fraternity based on fun, fellowship and the Masonic principles of brotherly love, relief and truth. There are approximately 340,000 members from 195 temples (chapters) in the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Mexico, the Republic of Panama, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Europe and Australia.

The Branson Convention will bring several temples (chapters) from the middle US together in one place for one fun time in Branson, Missouri.  The Branson Lakeside RV Park is a great place to gather for these types of events.  With ample space for all sizes of RV rigs, we are convenient in so many ways!

How to choose the perfect RV Park!
As a new RVer you will want to consider what type of activities you will want to take advantage of in Branson, Missouri. We are also located along the banks of Lake Taneycomo, so if fishing is on your to-do list, we are literally steps away from world-class trout fishing. If you are new to driving your RV, you may want to consider a pull through site for ease. For those who are comfortable in driving an RV you may want to consider one of our lakefront sites. You can enjoy an unobstructed view of Lake Taneycomo! At the Branson Lakeside RV Park we will provide an escort that will lead you to your site, so don’t worry about finding your way to your site.

What happens if I have trouble with my RV?
At the Branson Lakeside RV Park, we hope you have a trouble-free visit, but unfortunately IMG_0095things happen! It’s not uncommon for one of our park staff to be able to help you troubleshoot a problem. In the case of a bigger issue, Branson Mobile RV Repair will come right to you…and quickly! They will diagnose and fix whatever the issue is and have you fully operational again in no time!
