Two shows finish their 2013 Branson run and two shows open in 2014

Branson is known for its live shows.  Each year new shows arrive and some take their final Branson bow.  2014 is already stacking up to be an exciting year in Branson with new shows.

Jonah at Sight and Sound TheatreThe Biblical stage production, Jonah, will have its Branson premiere at the Sight and Sound Theatre.  Jonah is a story of extremes we face as we trust in the Lord. Through it all, God reveals His extreme mercy and love not only for Jonah but His love for all. With spectacular staging, immersive special effects, beautiful original music and a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat, Sight & Sound brings the action front and center to each visitor in our majestic Theatre in Branson, MO.   Jonah will open in Branson on March 22, 2014.

Another new show premiering in Branson next year is the all new Hamner Variety Show.  Dave and Denise Hamner have been part of the entertaining Hamner Barber Variety Show for many years in Branson.  In 2014, they will become the title show at the new Hamner Theatre.  Their all new show Hamner Show in Bransonwill continue to feature amazing illusions, but that’s only the beginning.  The new show will included singing impressionist Jeff Brandt, featured vocalist Tamra Tinoco, Russian Acrobatic Adagio Dance Pair Vadim & Mariya Serykh, comedian Lex Pearson, ventriloquist Brenda Hahne, choreographer and dancer A.J. Heard, and assistant choreographer and dancer Ken Brown.  In addition to the current technical staff, the Hamners have also recruited famed Las Vegas based magician Johnny Thompson to work as the new show director.  This new must-see Branson show will open in March 2014.Two favorite Branson shows will take their final curtain call in town this year.  The Roy Rogers Jr. Show will no longer keep a regular Branson show schedule, but rather hit the road to continue the legacy of Roy Rogers.  Roy’s son and grandson have called Branson stages home, performing audience favorites of Roy and Dale’s western brand music.  You can still catch their show in Branson at RFD-TV the Theatre through November 27th.

Tony OrlandoAfter 20 years in Branson, Tony Orlando will perform his final Christmas show November 30th.  Tony is setting his sights on taking his popular Christmas show on the road as well as focusing on new projects.  After over 50 years in show business and dozens of hits, we know this next chapter for Tony will be an exciting one!

The Landing is filled with many Branson homegrown specialty shops. Gifts of Distinction offers one of a kind jewelry and carries collector item such as Swarovski Chrystal, Pandora and Vera Bradley. You can step back in time to the Five and Dime and find the perfect Branson souvenir. Never a Dull Moment offers that special one of a kind knife for that collector on your Christmas list. There are two sports bars on the landing Old Chicago Pizza and the Paddle Wheel Pub. They have just announced their newest sport bar Buffalo Wild Wings coming soon! Between Bass Pro shops, the sports bars, and shops like As Seen On TV, he is sure to enjoy a day at Branson Landing.

After a day at the Landing you can settle back into your RV site and enjoy a quiet evening by the lake or walk your furry friend at the off leash dog park. Branson Missouri is Christmas Shows!

Let us be the first to wish you a Merry Christmas! After all it’s the most wonderful time of the year for visiting Branson. The Branson Lakeside RV Park is open and waiting for you. You can visit Christmas light drive throughs’ or visit amusement parks with over 5 million lights and decorated for the Christmas Season. We have Christmas shows, musicals, and some of Branson’s year-round entertainers performing Christmas songs.

Miracle of Christmas Show

There are a number of Christmas shows in Branson and many entertainers transform their show into Christmas! Some of the shows that are 100% Christmas are: The Sight and Sound Theatre show, “The Miracle of Christmas” –  You will be transformed back in time to the village of Bethlehem to experience the birth of Jesus Christ. Follow Mary and joseph on their Journey. The Sight and Sound stage spans 3 sides of the theatre so you will feel right in the middle of the actions. Watch the isles as camels, donkeys, and villagers roam the city. You will be amazed as you travel to the hillsides where the angels declare a savior is born. Another great show is The The Toy Shoppe MusicalToy Shoppe at the Starlite Theatre. Join toy shop owner Hank Longley on his journey to save his store.  Longley’s Toy Shoppe has been filled with magic, wonders and miracles for nearly 100 years. It’s a place where toys come to life and children gather to hear owner Hank Longley tell stories. The audience joins Hero the Dog, Cheeseball the Mouse, Bruno the Bear and country music star Billy Dean as Hank Longley in this story of love, faith and appreciation for the value of every individual. The story is full of old-fashioned values and is great entertainment for the entire family. The original music from the production, featuring 11 songs co-written by Kenny Rogers as well as several holiday classics is available on Dreamcatcher Records.

Looking for a show filled with great Christmas music. Many of Branson’s stars turn their show into a Christmas spectacular. You can see The Brett Family Christmas Show; join Tom Brett and his beautiful family as they share their favorite Christmas songs and memories with you. This year they are performing a variety of Christmas favorites from “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” to “O Holy Night.” You will leave their show filled with Christmas Spirit. One of Branson’s first families, the
Presley’s, have filled their show with Christmas classics and songs of today. The side splitting comedy surrounds the Christmas season. Branson’s largest performing family, the Hughes Brothers have brought the entire family; 5 brothers, 5 wives and 33 children together on stage to transport you to a Christmas wonderland filled with the season’s best vocal harmonies, exciting dances, inspiring instrumentals, and of course, enchantment and light-hearted humor. Hollywood’s biggest Christmas show is live at the King’s castle Theatre, Christmas In Hollywood! You will join Santa, his Hollywood Elves, and some of the best singers and dancers in Branson’s number one all-singing, all- dancing Hollywood Christmas Show. Enjoy a magical sleigh ride to our winter wonderland of holiday fun and festive cheer with all of your favorite classic holiday songs, dazzling scenery, gorgeous costumes and the highest kicking chorus girls this side of the North Pole.

But we would be remised if we didn’t tell you the Christmas Spirit of Andy Williams is alive in Branson Missouri. Andy’s longtime friends the Lennon Sisters and the Osmond Brothers will be performing on Andy’s stage this Christmas Season. The two families will continue the legacy of Andy with a tribute to “Mr. Christmas” himself. The full production show has amazing sets, dancers, a full orchestra, lots of variety acts and the beautiful music and sounds of Christmas all presented in the spectacularly decorated Andy Williams Moon River Theatre.

Branson Area Festival of LightsThe Branson Lakeside RV Park is open and waiting for you. There is no better time than November and December to visit Branson. Be warned, here we say “Merry Christmas.” Starting November 1st Branson is everything Christmas. You can visit Christmas light drive throughs’ or visit amusement parks with over a million lights decorated for the Christmas Season. We have Christmas shows, musicals, and shows performing Christmas songs.

There are many different ways to see the Christmas lights in Branson. There are two different drive throughs in Branson. The first and the biggest is the Branson Area Festival of Lights, located on Shepherd of the Hills expressway across from Sight and Sound Theatre. The show is produced by North Pole Productions and operated by the Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce. The light display is over a mile long and has over 175 different displays. For $15 per car load you can see the spectacular light display. As you enter the drive through look for the radio station sign, tune in and listen to the music as the lights twinkle and glow. The second drive through is the Shepherd of the Hills Trail of Lights. The Trail winds its way through the historic 160-acre Shepherd of the Hills Shepherd of the Hills Trail of Lights Inspiration TowerHomestead, and will take you down the famous “Trail that Nobody Knows How Old” into a holiday wonderland. You’ll travel through a variety of different lands, each with their own theme, from fantasy to religious to patriotic. Life-size (and some larger than life!) three-dimensional characters have their own housing so you can “peek” in on the fun happening inside. Festive holiday music is themed to each scene, and visitors are sure to find themselves singing along. And the new Victorian Christmas displays add even more excitement and fun! The Trail also includes millions of multi-colored Christmas lights. There are hundreds of gorgeous lighted displays as well as the animated scenes. As the grand finale to the journey, your ticket also includes a trip to Inspiration Tower where you can ride the glass elevators up 230′ for a Santa’s eye view of the lights from above.  The cost for the Trail of Lights is $12 per adult and $6 for children ages 4-16. You can bring the whole car load for a flat rate of $45.

Silver Dollar City ChristmasWant to spend the entire evening looking at lights? Then you have to visit Silver Dollar City for an Old Time Christmas.  They have over 5 million lights throughout the park along with Christmas decorations and a dozen Christmas shows. The Tastes of the Season are in abundance during An Old Time Christmas filled with great holiday dining options for every member of the family! Sit down to a Hickory-Smoked Prime Rib Buffet, warm yourself with a bowl of Hearty Chili or satisfy your holiday sweet tooth with s’mores or a hot apple dumpling! You can even have Lunch with Santa, or just stop by his workshop at Kringles Krossing to tell him what you’re wishing for this Christmas! You won’t want to miss the 5 story Christmas tree in Town Square on Main Street with over 350,000 LED lights twinkling and dancing in unison with the Square’s 10 storefronts, 20 street festoons and over 250 cut trees for a sight and sound spectacular like no other! Whatever you do don’t miss the Christmas Parade with floats of Christmas toys that have come to life, and Santa himself!

After an evening of viewing the lights head back to the RV Park and enjoy a cool fall evening in the Ozarks.
