Be surrounded by the bustling village of Bethlehem as camels, horses, donkeys and villagers pass by. Be transported to the hillside where legions of angels descend upon the shepherds to proclaim, “The Savior is born!” The Starlite Theater will be featuring “The Toy Shoppe.” The Toy Shoppe musical was co-written by Branson entertainer Kenny Rogers. The musical is based around character Hank Longley played by country star Billy Dean.  Longley’s Toy Shoppe has been filled with magic, wonders and miracles for nearly 100 years. It’s a place where toys come to life and children gather to hear owner Hank Longley tell stories, of love, faith and appreciation for the value of every individual. The story is full of old-fashioned values and is great entertainment for the entire family. The original music from the production, featuring 11 songs co-written by Kenny Rogers as well as several holiday classics is available on Dreamcatcher Records.

A Great Weekend to See a Show in Branson, Mo!

Branson is filled with special acts in town for the weekend of October 18th through the 20th.  Four Hit-Making Groups from the 60′s are performing in one show at the Andy Williams Theater. The Happy Together Tour celebrates the music of the sixties with The Turtles featuring Flo & Eddie, Monkees lead singer Micky Dolenz, Gary Puckett & The Union Gap Band, and Mark Lindsay, Sawyer_Brown_1former lead singer of Paul Revere & The Raiders, bringing good time music to Branson! These four artists have over sixty Top 40 hits to choose from, including six number one songs. Half of those Top 40 hits were Top 10! The Oakridge Boys Theater also has a jam packed weekend of entertainment. October 19th Sawyer Brown takes the stage. Sawyer Brown was discovered through the show star search in the early 90’s. Their pop country sound lead the way for many county bands of the 90’s. their hits like ‘Six days on the road” and “The Boy’s and Me.” Sawyer Brown has released twenty studio albums, of which three have been certified gold in the United States for sales of 500,000 copies. Branson Missouri Food and Wine Festival October 26

MFWFLogoMark your calendars for the 4th Annual Missouri Food & Wine Festival on October 26th, 2013. Since its first festival in 2009, the Missouri Food and Wine Festival in Branson, Missouri has become one of Southwest Missouri’s largest annual food and wine events. This year the Missouri Food & Wine Festival moves from Chateau on the Lake to the grounds of the Branson Mill Craft Village (3300 N. Gretna Road).  The one day festival will have more festive atmosphere with something for the whole family.   The one day festival beginning at 8:30 am and running till 9 pm.

There are many new additions to this year’s festival. One of the biggest additions makes the event fun for the whole family. The festival features an art activities area designed to entertain small children and young teens. Over 200 sq ft of face painting, balloon tying, games and activities all designed around an “art theme”. There will be experienced volunteers to guide your children through a series of art activities all made possible by local non-profit organizations and community donations. There is something for everyone in your family or group of friends.

Dozens of Southwest Missouri’s finest eateries will be on hand for sampling; including Italian, Mexican, European, Asian and down home American cuisine, artisan chocolates and cheeses; pizza, burgers, and so much more. Don’t forget to check out the Ozark bottled soda pop, gourmet coffees, and fine chocolates.

The adults will still have the opportunity to sample and purchase by the glass some of Missouri’s finest wineries like Linwedel Winery, Le Bourgeois Winery, Bear Creek Wine Company, Crown Valley Winery, and one of Missouri’s most award winning wineries Stone Hill Winery. Stone Hill was just awarded the Missouri Governor’s Cup for 2013. In addition Missouri’s premier wines, you’ll sample beer, distilled spirits, champagne, Ozark Soda Pop, gourmet coffee, soft drinks, even chocolate covered bacon, all to your heart’s content, at this family friendly event for foodies.

Watch local Chefs compete for the “Chef of The Fest” title as they prepare their signature dishes at the Kitchen Theatre. The Branson Mill Craft Village is a 40,000 square foot craft village with working crafters and demonstrators. There will be specials and opportunities to sign up for prizes inside the Mill.
